User Testing Under Way for HR/P Transformation

The Human Resources/Payroll Transformation Initiative (HR/P) took a significant step forward in late February with the launch of training and user acceptance testing (UAT) for 120 staff members in University Human Resources.

Training for the multiyear Human Capital Management (HCM) Cloud system project launched two weeks prior to UAT supported by job aids and courses hosted on Canvas, the university’s learning management system.

UAT provides staff with a hands-on opportunity to explore the new HR system and test real-world scenarios. During this initial phase, testers will help ensure the system works as intended, meets business and user needs, and supports usability and functionality. As part of the work, testers receive test scripts and instructions on how to report errors or anomalies they encounter during testing. They also have access to regular “office hours” with HR/P Transformation experts for training and technical support and live feedback.

This early phase of testing will also help refine the training that will eventually be delivered to the university community, while assisting the project team in better understanding how the new system will affect and reshape everyday HR processes.

UAT will expand to other university units in early fall. In the meantime, the project team continues to work on internal and external system integration development, configuration, and payroll testing to prepare for universitywide implementation.
