Testing and business process reviews highlighted in ramped-up HR/P schedule

The project team, working closely with hundreds of partners from the universitywide Design Review Board (DRB) and the business process review (BPR) teams, went into high gear during the last several weeks. They launched the third round of systems integration testing (SIT3) on October 1 and began future-state BPRs on October 8.

The teams divided, slightly, in order to conquer. Core HR/P and DRB teams tackled SIT3 and then the BPR team joined them for the future-state BPR sessions.

In SIT3, participants are testing the integration of about 40 different systems to ensure data flow successfully between them. The BPR sessions are addressing a range of subjects, including position management, new hires, and terminations.

“It’s not just the project teams working in a bubble,” said John Fahey, vice president for University Finance and Administration operations and project executive. “We’re talking together and working together. And with each session, we’re asking how this modifies what we do on a daily basis.”

SIT3 is scheduled to continue through mid-January. The future-state BPR could extend into late March.

The HR/P project also will include six months of parallel testing during Spring 2025 while members of the Rutgers community continue to be paid through PeopleSoft. This parallel testing will involve comparing the existing PeopleSoft with the new HCM Cloud system throughout pre- and post-implementation.

Training and user acceptance testing will begin in Spring 2025.
